A good quality and fine example of a late nineteenth century antique Indian sandalwood box, made as a cribbage board on top and containing two compartments inside for cigarettes or possibly cards plus a smaller compartment for the four cribbage markers pegs.
Beautifully smooth sandalwood with perfumed aroma with bone inlay work plus sadeli work.
A few minor losses to the inlay and sadeli work as to be expected from this art form but generally much better than the average example. See photos.
Lovely smell of antique sandalwood and excellent original old shiny patina all over.
