Indian Silver Rosewater Sprinkler Gulabpash Mughal 1840 381gms
Very fine quality workmanship and very heavy gage silver.
The foot is large slightly domed and unusually has pierced work acanthus leaves rising up to a bulbous body divided into sixteen sections with a fine twisted rope in between. Fine elegant slim neck terminating in an open flower head nozzle. The upper and lower part of the bulbous mid section are cast with sharply defined serrated, petal like gadrooning. The jali work on the foot is noteworthy .
This is a highly decorative, sculptural piece of Mughal silver in excellent original condition dating from the late18th to early 19th century in northern India.
