Exceptionally rare Baccarat crystal vase in crystal sitting on a MACCASSAR wood base with chrome plated brass fitments and handles.
The glass is very thick gage ( just under 1 cm thick ) and heavy and is of an exceptional pure Art Deco architectural form. Some usual scratchs to the base commensurate with light use and age. The MACCASSAR base is also good. The chrome handles show sign of use and minor plate loss.
The base is signed “ BACCARAT CHEZ LA MARQUISE DE SEVIGNE”
All in all a superb piece and a real visual treat to the eye.
