Antique Silver & Faux Tortoiseshell Pique Purse 1911

A superb example of a ladies Pique silver and faux tortoiseshell purse. Made from heavy gage silver with flower heads around the silver border, hanging from a silver chain and finger ring(for over glove) and Hallmarked for Birmingham 1911. The Pique silver inlay is of the highest quality and is also delicately engraved in the form of typical Edwardian bows and swags and garlands of flowers. The shell is unusual in that on both sides it is noticeably convex - and has retained its rare shape with no splits or cracks over the years. The interior is original and in good condition with no splits or tears. All in all a lovely item in good original condition that has been well looked after over the years.
